OSU Monroe Street

Monroe Street
Monroe Street is the primary North/South thoroughfare through the heart of the Oklahoma State’s campus. It is vital part of the University’s image. Recommended as a high priority project by the Oklahoma State University Landscape Master Plan (also completed by Alaback Design), the Monroe Street Renovation Project provided roadway and aesthetic enhancements to one-half mile of Monroe Street. The middle third of the street was transformed to a pedestrian focused plaza able to handle required vehicular traffic. The curbs were removed to make the plaza more pedestrian friendly. They were replaced with bollards and accent paving to delineate pots, accent paving outside the main plaza, gateway monuments, and ‘OSU’ paving emblems.
