South Tulsa Residence

South Tulsa Residence
Before the owner purchased this property, he consulted Alaback Design on how to develop the site.  With over 18′ of fall across the property, this site provided challenges and opportunities.  As we were locating the house on the site, we wanted to establish a finished floor elevation that would preserve the existing trees and provide proper elevation from the street view.  Because of the site planning, the architect was able to design a home with a walk out basement. This creates some outstanding views of of the backyard pool and landscaping.

At the front of the house, we designed a low courtyard wall.  This provides separation of the residence from the street.  The stamped color concrete walkway flows into a low brick-walled courtyard, which leads to the gracious front porch.  Trees and shrubs were installed to frame the house.

We designed the backyard to take full advantage of the grade change of the property.  The contemporary design of the infinity pool compliments the residential architecture and provides multiple entertainment areas to enjoy striking views in every season.  The walkout basement opens to a shaded brick terrace which steps down to the sunnier areas of the stone pool deck.  A spa and tanning shelf on the pool were incorporated to provide additional activities. A lower level brick patio contains seating areas and a fire pit. This allows the guests to enjoy the soothing white noise from the waterfall of the pool’s negative edge.
